NEET 2021 Eligibility Criteria
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has a strict eligibility criteria that applicants need to meet in order to sit for the examination. Any discrepancy in the application form such as age, caste or pass percentage in class 12 boards can result in the rejection of a candidate’s NEET application form. Given below are the conditions that candidates need to fulfil to meet NEET eligibility criteria.
Minimum Age For NEET:The applicant must be at least 17 years old on or before 31st December 2021. Maximum age limit was 25 years (for general category) and 30 years (for the candidates who belong to the SC/ST/OBC category), which was abolished after the orders from the Supreme Court. The final decision on the upper age limit to apply for NEET exam is still pending. Till then, there is no upper age limit to fill NEET 2021 application form.
Educational Qualification For Neet:The applicant should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English with a minimum of 50%. Students appearing for class 12th exams in 2021 can also apply.
Nationality Criteria:Indian Nationals, Overseas Citizens of Indian (OCIs), Non-Residential Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and foreign nationals are eligible to apply for NEET 2021.
Neet Reservation Criteria:Reservation for the economically weaker section is not applicable in NEET 2021. The reservation policy and criteria is applicable for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) as per the Government of India norms. Furthermore, the criteria for reservation is subject to rules and regulations of the state governing authority.
Note: There is no reservation of seats for OBC-creamy layer candidates.
